IBM Storage

IBM supplies a variety of storage systems, disk, optical disk and tape based. An example is the IBM Magstar 3494 Tape Library pictured below in Figure 0-4, providing a tape automation solution for a variety of user environments. It enables expandability from one to 16 frame units and from one to 46 Magstar 3590 or 16 3490E tape transports and from 160 to 6,210 cartridges (up to 186 Tbytes with compaction).
